A third-generation Lafayette dentist and orthodontic specialist, Dr. Carr has been creating beautiful smiles since 1990. His grandfather, Guthrie P. Carr, was a general dentist who began his practice in Lafayette in 1914. Dr. Carr’s sons, Dr. W. Kelley Carr (an orthodontist since 1961) and Dr. Guthrie E. Carr (a pediatric dentist) succeeded their father and are now retired. Today his grandson, Dr. Guthrie P. Carr, continues the family tradition of practicing dentistry in the Lafayette area for the third generation and is an orthodontic specialist.
Dr. Carr graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Business Management. In 1983, Dr. Carr enrolled in the Indiana University School of Dentistry and received his dental degree in 1987. In 1988, he enrolled in St. Louis University Graduate School and received his Master of Science in dentistry (orthodontics) in 1990. Dr. Carr followed his father Kelley into the family profession of orthodontics.
Dr. Carr supports a wide variety of activities in the community such as Little League baseball, softball and soccer. He also supports 4-H activities in Tippecanoe County and the surrounding counties.
Dr. Carr has been active in the State Dental Society and has been a trustee of the State Dental Society, representing the dentists from Lafayette and surroundings counties at the state level. Outside of the office, Dr. Carr enjoys travel, skiing and cycling.
